To the nose nothing like as exciting as the label. To the palate some berry taste even a little licorice quickly masked out by an unpleasant fiery but short lived wershness, then the chocolate, the tannins soften and there is a nice length with a bit of pepper. I let this one breath overnight as after a few hours there seemed nothing positive to say about it. It was better the next day but not to my taste. david c. It tastes of cherries and if you have a big Sunday roast on the table I would advise buying a couple. Its a great partner for Roast Beef. Turkey is fine but its a little heavy for the meat. Strong nose of black fruits and liquorice with some coffee in there. Tastes of blackberries, plumbs, cherry and damson. Massively full bodied 15% abv and turns your lips a lovely shade of purple.
