Fruity. Complex with lovely lasting end note. Paul S. Sat Oct 13 18:39:27 UTC 2012 at a friends house Oh, this is lovely. Really lovely. We had this with roast leg of lamb and all the trimmings and it went down a treat. We opened aerated and decanted his many hours before dinner, but even when the cork came out, the aroma just screamed "quality"! Loads of fruity cherries and vanilla with hints of chocolate on the nose. The same flavours continue into the mouth. A medium bodied feel with the merest hint of sweetness. A gently tannic and quite lengthy finish packed full of fruit, chocolate and hints of spice. I think this is a seriously good Rioja. OK, it's a Gran Reserva so it's seen plenty of oak and that's not to everyone's taste, but we loved it and will certainly be buying some more. A really nice wine, Rudolfo and one you should be very proud of. Gerald F. Sun Mar 10 21:23:25 UTC 2013 Probably the best Rioja I have ever tasted! Simon D. Sun Aug 19 18:50:46 UTC 2012 Needs time to open up Red Rick W. Fri Jul 27 22:22:48 UTC 2012 Complex nose which promises a lot with black fruit, vanilla and mint. Palate loaded with black cherry, liquorice and an aniseed background note with upfront tannins. The finish is long with great fruit and tannin and just softly hugs your tastebuds like a comfortable scarf. I prefer the Reserva but probably because I love the big vanilla Rioja kick, this is for those who love a bit of class to sip on. Graeme T. Sat Jun 16 20:09:04 UTC 2012 Darren L. Thu Jun 14 10:12:44 UTC 2012 at a friends house Everything a top rioja should be, bags of dark fruit, lovely tannin from its time in oak and a smoky finish that had me thinking of lapsang souchong. Perfect with a nice lump of mature cheddar. David T. Tue Jun 05 08:34:47 UTC 2012 at a friends house heaven in a glass matthew w. Sat Jun 02 19:26:45 UTC 2012 Great garnet red in colour, this 13.5% abv wine has got the pulse racing already. Fantastic nose that is so fruity and delicious with some toffee caramel sweetness too. Ooh, cherries and plums on the palate, this is just luscious. The tannins that come through from it's 30 months oak ageing are superb. This is a blend of 90% Tempanillo and equal parts of Graciano and Mazuelo grapes. Very classy wine, that might need some thought about food-pairing, but actually who needs food as this is superb on it's own I have discovered! Barry W.
