 I have no idea why I selected this wine, someone must have recommended it to me but i don't know who.... Anyway... despite aeration, room temperature etc the last glass was still better than the first, indicating that extended breathing is a good idea... Great colour, moderately fruity, easy drinking and enjoyable, but somehow unremarkable. dave w. The great thing about wines with mixed feedback is you can then get them in the sale at a great value price. This is a good honest easy drinker,typical of both the grape & region with stewed bramble fruits, tobacco & leather. No fizz, no overtly high acidity just a good value drop. On opening and decanting there was a slight sulphur smell. I left in the decanter for a good couple of hours returning periodically to give it a good sloosh round after which the sulphur left to be replaced with a raspberry hit. First glass and it strikes as a medium bodied wine showing young fruit but a little too acidic. This certainly calmed when paired with a shepard's pie but returned after the meal. Sun Dec 18 13:09:12 UTC 2011 What a stunning wine! Decanting and leaving to breathe for a couple of hours, revealed a very classy smooth red with a slightly earthy nose. Masses of fruity grape on the pallet with a clean dry finish. Subtle and sophisticated; a perfect match for my grilled pork chop and oven roast vegetable supper. Adrian G. Seemed as though it was quite ready to drink, as others say it probably needs time to mature in the bottle, (It's December 2011 now).
