Not quite as vibrant as the 2009 but it is still providing great earthy brambly goodness. Quite a strong alcoholic nose packed full of red fruit leads to creamy oak, more red fruit, thorny sticks and a lovely spice twist. Surprisingly easy to drink without food but great with Mediterranean lamb steaks and sliced black olives. A very long finish with a bonus track of spice just when you thought it had gone. Portuguese and south african wines are definitely floating my boat at the moment (in between whites) and ths is another instant re-order for me. theodore b. Tue May 21 21:27:56 UTC 2013 Lovely, smooth, and moreish. Really liked it. Cindy P. Tue Apr 09 16:37:47 UTC 2013 May even be a 5 out of 5. When I first tried this it was really fresh and spicy. In work we have a CDR called Bout D'Zan which is a name of a French liquorice as it is meant to be liquoricy. Well does anyone know any names for Portugese brands of liquorice as this is beautifully smooth and deep with liquorice and cloves and other lovely winter flavours. A lovely red though it is not a robust as it may seem as I have had the bottle only open one night and it is not quite the same and it has been bashed about a bit (house rabbits wanting to get in on the wine love). A classy wine that has mature well and needs to be handled with care. Susan C. Mon Feb 25 22:44:22 UTC 2013 Lovely wine, we enjoyed it with steak, and enjoyed it on it's own, it has a nice smooth finish, with hints of bramble on the nose, very nice! Rob J. Sun Jan 27 12:53:58 UTC 2013 This is a good wine, perfect for those who like a range of flavours without too much body. The nose on this wine made me smile from ear to eat, I won't lie, I have just finished a 14 hour shift and ergo its not surprising that this wine had that effect. Regardless, I have heavy blackberries and plums on the nose, and a sweetness that gets the mouth watering. The colour is a rich purple and the body is deep. The taste is off spiced cherries and not too heavy on the tannins. The pepper lasts long on the tongue after the initial berry explosion dissipates and the sweetness in the nose is there in the flavour also. Tom G. Tue Jul 31 18:49:13 UTC 2012 at Naked Wines A deep red colour with strong persistent tears. To the nose blackberry of good intensity. To the palate rich in blackberry and peppery notes with smooth chocolate and soft tannins having a softness pleasant length. david c. Thu Aug 02 14:33:29 UTC 2012 at a friends house Very smooth, drinkable and chocolately! Wayne H. Sun Jun 10 18:48:04 UTC 2012 at a friends house Glug... glug... glug... a lovely quaffing wine... straightforward and unpretentious... Alan R. Sat Apr 27 15:26:11 UTC 2013 Very nice portuguese wine from naked wines. Spicier than Spanish Rioja, but very similar. Claus B. Tue May 08 15:12:30 UTC 2012 at a friends house Karen E. Wed Apr 18 21:51:28 UTC 2012 at a friends house Plummy overtones of Autumn and not a bit of unsubtle vanilla from the oaking. A winner Victoria G. Sun Apr 15 10:22:00 UTC 2012 at a friends house Alison M. Warm and fruity, we enjoyed this with a spicy beef casserole. Definitely a winter warmer. Kathy P. Mon Apr 02 10:06:01 UTC 2012 at a friends house Great value big red Ian G. Sat Mar 31 22:39:12 UTC 2012 at a friends house It was a given that I would like this (I am 1 of Antonio's archangels after all!) The great thing about the 2010 vintage was that the 2009 ended up in the sale & I got this at a snip. This wine embodies the term "easy drinking" but thats simplifies it so I'll continue... Bramble fruits on the nose wiith blackberry dominating, in the mouth this is smooth, rounded & has an earthiness to the finish that compliments the fruit (remember bramble picking as a child?) This goes well with many foods but for me drinks perfectly on its own. Another quality wine with a real sense of region, great work again guys! Cheers! Geoff F. Mon Feb 18 22:07:19 UTC 2013 at a friends house Derek Y. Wed Mar 14 21:15:26 UTC 2012 A rich, smooth, deep flavoursome red of some finesse. No rough edges. Fantastic value. Lovely! Bunnet G. Tue Jan 17 10:23:32 UTC 2012 at a friends house I was amazed at how much this wine changed in the first 15 minutes after being opened. It blossomed into a ripe, fruity and soft wine with a nice hit of spice from the syrah. Overall a very drinkable wine. Colin S. Flag this wine as duplicate
