That's not to say I like all Shiraz it's just that Naked Wines have such nice ones! Brewery Hill are up there with the best as powerful, full bodied and muscular wines that I think are best drunk on their own. It reminded me of the poor quality stuff you can pick up in French supermarkets for a few Euros - but don't! I thought it was not possible to buy a poor Australian wine, such is the consistent high quality, but this one proved me wrong. Fit only for cooking (at a push). It was virtually undrinkable. Mark L. A much more powerful red than the Arabella even though the alcohol content is less. Prefer this one with food and much more reminiscent of an Old World Syrah. A lovely wine that I’ll buy again. Lovely fruity (black cherries and others of a similar colour), was a little thin in my mouth on first opening but has rapidly filled out to a typical Australian shiraz full body. Some very interesting flavours I can't quite pin down all of them in there but certainly fruity with nice tannins and while it seem to be missing the normal black peppery flavour of a shiraz it seems to be have been replaced by a hint of chilli. More restrained than I was expecting given all the talk about it being a BIG wine! It's medium to full bodied with a soft, rounded mouthfeel, mellow tannins and a hint of oak. As you might expect it's got the classic Shirazey black fruit aromas with a nice pepperyness but it's also got a pleasant, slightly floral aroma and as it opened up a bit I picked up some woody notes too. If you enjoy Ozzie Shiraz but want to try something that's a bit less in-your-face give it a try. This page is still a bit messed up for me so I can't rate this wine but I'd give it a 3 stars because it wasn't my sort of wine. It was rich and mushroomy which would make it good with steak. Sadly, unlike most of the other NW'ers I am a fish-a-terian (piscaterian to normal folk) so this didn't float my boat.
