 Not as vibrant as I had expected, red that was not very intense. Firm long lasting tears. To the nose red cherries with a slight vanilla. Fairly smooth with pleasant acidity but a little light with a slight berry flavour but lacking in fruit, those that like tannin will not be disappointed. There is a slight bitterness giving way to a quite long with peppery taste followed by slight oak and chocolate. I think this wine may benefit from being allowed to breath for a few hours. I have tasted the lower priced Brewery Hill wines and don't see this as significantly better and so by that measure is not as good value. david c. Syrah combines a meaty core of ripe berry fruit with tones that range from herbal to peppery in a package that tends to be medium bodied with good acidity and softer tannins. With age the wines can gain lovely leathery and black olive notes that make them a great match for savoury and gamey dishes. Steve G. Usually, I would have to wait a couple of hours for a wine to acclimatize to the surrounding temperature - but not this. The finish on the reserve seemed a little harsher and a bit "soapy". Still nice, though! Melanie Y. This may just be the best wine I have ever tasted. I've only tried one bottle so once I try it again I might get a bit more balanced perspective, but I ordered two from nake wines, and upon trying the first I knew I had to get more. Tried 1 straight after pulling the cork, another one next day and the latter opened up, more subtle notes smoother tannins. Then 2 blokes 4 bottles one go. no food. Job done ready to order more.
