Lovely easy drinking CdR. Good body, full of fruit - damson and cherries - with soft tannins. Another winner from Ben which hopefully will come back with a new vintage Adrian S. Sun May 05 20:38:04 UTC 2013 Benjamin Darnault is a Magician amazing wines. Be warned. Asako H. Mon Mar 11 17:58:55 UTC 2013 lovely red, definately would buy again TERESA T. Wed Feb 20 17:13:05 UTC 2013 I loved this wine, wish I'd opened it earlier when there were still more in stock. A classic Rhone, superb. Steve H. Sat Jan 19 21:04:56 UTC 2013 Lovely wine. Smooth and soft. Lighly fruity. Not like what I usually have but would definitely have again. Paul S. Sun Dec 09 19:43:24 UTC 2012 A very average red table wine. John M. Sun Nov 25 16:06:43 UTC 2012 Sarah C. Tue Oct 16 19:15:33 UTC 2012 at a friends house Don't usually drink CdR but given Benjamin's other wine creations we thought we'd give it a go. This is a lovely wine and excellent value. Very fruity nose which seems to reduce to a lighter mid-fruit palate. A nice mid-length & slightly peppery finish. Thomas K. Sat Sep 22 09:38:40 UTC 2012 The nose is quite muted, but on the palette it's quite well structured. Subtle fruit with maybe a touch of elderflower and a little smoky acidity on the finish. It's fairly young and is drinking pretty well given it's age.... I suspect another 6 months+ in the bottle would really develop something special. As it stands, probably a good middle ground between Ben's lighter Minervois and meatier St Chinian that makes for a good mid-week easy drinker. Darren L. Wed Sep 05 22:30:19 UTC 2012 Really nice wine that complements Ben's stable well. Clear bright ruby red, there's a real flowery niff about it. Young red fruit, with that floweriness and quite a strong peppery kick. Medium to light bodied with firm tannin structure. Good for the angel price. Nathan M. Tue Jul 24 06:50:44 UTC 2012 A lovely easy drinking red packed full of raspberry and blackberry flavour. We had this without food and found if very "quaffable". We'd opened it a few hours earlier so it had plenty of time to breath (having been passed through the aerator). Would have liked to have kept this a little longer and tried it with a BBQ but it was another of those occasions when I just fancied a bottle of red! Gerald F. Mon Jul 23 16:09:22 UTC 2012 This was very fruity, a real burst of blackcurrant juice fills your mouth but it's not just a fruit bomb. The firm tannins give it strucutre and it's well balanced but very easy drinking. We had it whilst eating T Bone steaks from the Barbie al fresco accompanied by rosemary and garlic potatoes in the lovely early evening English sunshine Francesca J. Mon Jul 23 09:05:49 UTC 2012 Steven T. Sun Apr 29 08:10:14 UTC 2012 at a friends house Very nice spicey exciting.recommended Will M. Fri Apr 27 21:21:23 UTC 2012 Dark fruity gorgeousness Emma B. Sun Mar 18 13:42:38 UTC 2012 A classic, southern French flavour, well blended and excellent value. Enjoyed this far more than the other Darnalt's I have tried thus far-now looking forward to my remaining Darnalt red, the 2010 Minervois. David C. Sat Mar 17 09:19:50 UTC 2012 at a friends house I have just tried my first bottle of your Celtis Australis and, as it now seems to be out of stock, I'll give my thoughts here! First, I think that, with a couple of hours in the glass, it's ready. What struck me most was the lovely balance of the wine, on all levels. It's quite light, yet has plenty of flavour and good depth. The fruit is subtle, but there is plenty of it, with a little green tannin to hold it nicely. The bouquet has started to come round already; nice soft fruit, with a hint of gout de terroir. To me the flavour was raspberry, softened by mulberries. I shall have another glass tonight ( after the Small and Small Sauvignon!) when I expect the fruit to have expanded, perhaps just a little. David B. Mon Mar 12 09:12:14 UTC 2012 James F. Thu Mar 08 13:22:14 UTC 2012 at a friends house made me feel grown up Mark S. Mon Mar 05 20:19:56 UTC 2012 at a friends house Just sitting down to have a glass of this with some bubble and squeak (heathen I hear you cry!!) Regardless of the food I'm eating this is a very, very good wine. Has a rich, spicy and peppery nose that promises so much and boy it delivers. Dark fruit flavours with a very subtle sweetness of black cherries. Could readily drink this all night and will certainly be pouring another glass very shortly matthew w. John M. Daniel W. Rich, pungent, powerful nose with surprisingly delicate black fruit flavours, some spice and then a heavy tannin finish. Like it! alex g. Fri Feb 10 22:47:35 UTC 2012 at a friends house Still young and therefore tannins overpower the fruit. A little disappointing as a result Ian L. Tue Jan 24 20:38:47 UTC 2012 at a friends house This will be the 2nd BD wine I've had. First was the Minervois, which I wasn't really a fan, so to be honest I wasn't really looking forward to this, but, was pleasantly surprised. I quite liked it! I'm no expert, my usual was buy whats on offer at supermarket, hence why I'm here! Don't now that I would rush to buy again, but not put off! Perhaps as my pallet changes, i'll enjoy them more, I will order again, perhaps trying another. Catriona d. Sun Jan 22 16:43:02 UTC 2012 Vicky A. Sat Jan 14 09:24:52 UTC 2012 Mark B. Wed Jan 11 21:01:18 UTC 2012 at a friends house Loved it David L. Wed Jan 11 18:26:22 UTC 2012 at a friends house Les Cambriens is a beautiful deep intense dark red colour with a huge nose packed with spice, dark red fruit, leather, tobacco and almost vegetal aromas. The pallet is very fresh, with lots of spice and alcohol coming through but plenty of black cherries and brambles to to balance it. It has a great long tannic finish. A wonderful old world food wine. Graeme T. Tue Jan 10 22:03:23 UTC 2012 at a friends house An odd wine.... on first opening I didn't really enjoy. On day two it was much more drinkable, but almost reminiscent of a mulled wine. Strange Roy L. Mon Jan 09 23:26:54 UTC 2012 at a friends house Mawson C. Mon Jan 09 18:12:44 UTC 2012 at a friends house A "full fat" syrah grenache blend. Had with game pie. Very nice. Sat Nov 19 17:53:44 UTC 2011 A good, tasty red, great with or without food. Would definitely buy if I saw this at a bar or restaurant as the cost is also great for a wine of this quality Rachel V.
