Rich blackcurrant fruit on the nose with some delicious spice, more of the same in the mouth with a bit of plum and fennel. Has plenty of acidity to keep it fresh and would be a great match for a flavoursome grill. Ruaridh C. Thu Sep 20 11:09:49 UTC 2012 This is a lovely rich, dark, garnet glass of wine. Full on my kind of red. When first opened I wasn't sure if the aroma was vine fruits soaked in cassis or red fruit with brandy, but it was sweet and alcoholic on the nose. Two hours later the alcohol had calmed down a bit and it was plumalicious! I had plums and cherries in my mouth. Not too heavy on the tannins and a nice long finish. This is not a fast drinking red, but one to savour every, longlasting mouthful. Very enjoyable. Cindy P. Tue Aug 21 14:08:44 UTC 2012 Wow, sweet undertone but a very satisfying well rounded merlot Gayle H. Wed Aug 01 19:42:51 UTC 2012 at a friends house Super! Charles D. kelsey n. Sat Feb 11 14:55:40 UTC 2012 nice label. nice merlot. Sonna L. Tue Feb 07 19:19:41 UTC 2012 at a friends house giving it a high rating despite 'not liking' it, because it is MUCH improved when decanted and allowed to breathe thoroughly J R W. Mon Jan 09 23:46:23 UTC 2012 at a friends house brilliant very fruity Richard Y. Thu Jan 05 21:08:08 UTC 2012 Really nice deep fruity finish - surprisingly so, compared to other cabernet/merlot blends. Myself and my husband both thoroughly enjoyed sharing this just sitting watching TV. Would definitely buy again, but £13.49 may be a bit steep... Melanie Y. Thu Jan 05 14:48:23 UTC 2012 Darren L. Tue Dec 06 18:43:31 UTC 2011 Wow, was not expecting such a great wine to be honest, but it certainly delivered! Quite a deep wine with lots of developing flavours. Very smooth with a long finish. William S. Thu Dec 01 11:25:50 UTC 2011 at a friends house New favourite! Certainly packs an iniital punch (15%) yet the merlot gives it a very soft mouth feel. Very full with plenty of rich red fruit, strawberries very noticeable. Lorian P. Fruity nice alcohol content jenny w. Fri Nov 18 20:15:35 UTC 2011 at a friends house Paul C. Amanda C. Paul C. Gorgeous, deep dark and fruity Francesca J. great smooth wine, no tannins at all Emma M. Tue Oct 25 17:46:53 UTC 2011 at a friends house A bloodthirsty beast of a wine. I enjoyed the fruitiness but at 15% proof the alcohol stole the show. The wife had a sip and liked the taste but I think she'd have been on her back after a whole glass. For me it's much better with food and will easily stand up to big flavours. This big red isn't for the feint-hearted but having read the other reviews on here there are plenty of people who rate this very highly. 3/5 Steven B. Too powerful, I enjoyed the flavours but the 15% alcohol was too much for me and ruined the experience. Maybe this will blow off with extra breathing time? Steve B. Sat Oct 22 04:52:28 UTC 2011 at a friends house Richard M. That slider jumps between OK & I really like it - well I'm in-between those two ratings. It is more than nice and I may well buy again. Remember it's 15% & packs a punch - which is actually something I like :-) David C. Joshua L. Wow, hot digidgy dog 15% Full on yet soft on the palete. What a cracker. did not leave an tannic aftertaste. Plenty of fruit and dryish finish. Got to say did not share the bottle. Keep up the craftsmanship boys.I will be thinking of you whilst dribbling in my sleep. Malcolm D. Flag this wine as duplicate
